Short Biography
Eva is a clinical psychology PhD student under the co-mentorship of Drs. Greg Appelbaum and Jeff Daskalakis. She received a BA in Neuroscience from Colgate University with a minor in Creative Writing, then conducted postgraduate research in the Noninvasive Neuromodulation Unit within the NIMH for two years, optimizing brain stimulation techniques for treatment-resistant depression via fMRI-guided targeting and concurrent psychotherapy.
In her doctoral research, her current focus is using fMRI to explore biomarkers of depressive symptomatology and severity, as well as to individually target neural circuits of interest with transcranial magnetic stimulation. She also hopes to combine TMS with other modalities like psychotherapy and expand her work to additional psychiatric disorder categories.
Outside of school, she enjoys rollerblading along the beach, reviewing restaurants, and finding live music around San Diego. She is also passionate about her cats, who live very luxurious lifestyles.
